Jean Ray “JR” “Jabo” Willimon, age 88, of Plains, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Minneola District Hospital, in Minneola, KS. He was born July 27, 1924 at Davidson, OK, to John Wesley and Alice Anna (Wright) Willimon. He attended school at Davidson. He served in the United States Army, during World War II, from 1943 to 1945. He married Imogene B. Defoor on October 4, 1945, at Frederick, OK. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2004. He was employed by Big Chief Drilling as a derrick hand. He was a member of Minneola Christian Church, and the Disabled American Vets. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dominoes, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include: 6 Sons Jim Willimon, and wife Lana, of Stinnett, TX Wes Willimon, and wife Janet, of Liberal, KS Alton Willimon, and wife Diane, of Dodge City, KS Allan Willimon, and wife Sara, of Kismet, KS Marshall Willimon, and wife Gloria, of Liberal, KS Ted Willimon, and wife Luanne, of Tulsa, OK 1 Daughter Kathy Tankersley, and husband Dave, of Larned, KS 1 Brother John Ed Willimon, and wife Kirie, of Wyoming 5 Sisters Geraldine Sheldon, of Manitou, OK Diana Buck, and husband Denver, of Bentonville, AR Sara Ann Britton, of Bentonville, AR Shirley Ledbetter, and husband Jim, of Houston, TX Alice Faye Riley, and husband James, of Durant, OK 17 Grandchildren 26 Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charlie Willimon; sister, Wilma Fern Hefner; brothers, Kenneth Willimon, and Don Willimon; and grandson, Sean Willimon Visitation Time will be from 10:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2012, at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, with Virgil White, officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Fairlawn Cemetery, in Snyder, OK The family has asked that Memorial Contributions be sent to Minneola Long Term Care Unit, 207 Chestnut St, Minneola, KS 67865, in deep appreciation for the loving care given to their father.
