Richard E. Harrison Funeral Director/Embalmer Pre-Need Insurance Lic.
30 Years of Serving Families
Richard is a Kansas native. He was born in Beloit, KS to Harry and Lee Harrison who were Funeral Directors and owned Harrison Funeral Home. When people ask him how long he has been in the business, he kindly replies, “all my life”.
He graduated from Mortuary school in Kansas City, Kansas with Honors in 1986. That same year, he returned to Beloit, KS and took over his family’s business. In 1997, he purchased an additional funeral home, Hall Funeral Home in Lincoln, KS. Richard sold the funeral homes in 2002. Wanting to stay active in funeral service, he began working for a Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper, WY in 2010. After 3 years, he had the opportunity to return to Kansas to work in the rural community of Atwood, KS with Baalmann Mortuary. Richard came to work with us in October of 2015.
We are so honored to have such a genuine and caring professional join us at Brenneman Funeral Home. Richard feels that funeral service has been a calling instead of a job. It has always been the opportunity to help families that gives him purpose in life.
He has 3 children, Justin, Angela and Jacob and a grandson, Levi.
